T-4 days until Half-Christmas, but I can barely stand to wait that long! The morning will begin with homemade cocoa and whip enjoyed in our cozy warm bed along with our stockings. After venturing downstairs (which I’m praying will be clean by then), we’ll wake up our Christmas Manny in his Christmas sweater so he can play with his new toy(s). (Seriously – HOW many toys can a dog have?!) We’ll commence with a Half-Christmas breakfast of eggs, bacon, and bagels, and finish up with our gift-unwrapping. To be followed by time spent at the dog-park, a movie, and a fancy dinner. Why EVERYONE doesn’t celebrate Half-Christmas is totally beyond me…
I’ve had the hardest time falling asleep lately. Pillows are ridiculously uncomfortable to me, so I although I always attempt to use them (I’m sure that’s better for my neck, right?), I always end up throwing them rather violently across the room in the middle of the night. And don’t even get me started about yawn-induced tears that stream down my face and into my ears unless I constantly wipe them away. Some nights I want to tape toilet paper to my face. Just how does one fall asleep? I’m not a coffee (or caffeinated soda) drinker, so I know that’s not keeping me up. The only thing that seems to work is wine, but that’s probably not a good habit to get into. :)
I’ve only watched three episodes in all my life. But the last was the only one that mattered… My neighbors Josh and Brent just won The Amazing Race!! Just when I thought all hope was lost, they were the first of three teams to run up to Phil. I burst into a hott mess of tears and cheers. The Beekman Boys have yet again put Sharon Springs on the map! We are all SO proud of them. :) I may even see a Beekman 1802 giveaway in this blog’s future.
Song of the Week: Les Misérables in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. That’s right. It’s a whole album this week. Because how could I possibly pick just one song from a concert I once watched approximately 30 days in a row? I’m convinced this recording is the BEST recording ever made. And it makes me so excited for the premier of the new film coming out on Christmas day. I have never been excited for a movie the way I’m excited for THIS one…
Later this week, I hope to blog my last session of the year. Until then, here’s a Insta-collage of what life is like for my little family. And I apologize in advance. For the onslaught of new Christmas-inspired Instagrams to come. :)
Happy Tuesday!!
Lindsay - Thursday morning is the perfect time to catch up on blogs for the week, right? I see your three episodes of Amazing Race and raise you…all 12 years, 21 seasons which is about 250 episodes, I think? I might be slightly impressed by the fact that you actually *know* – not just ‘know’- one of the teams! Especially after the number of friends and family members I’ve begged to enter with me. As if you weren’t already super cool, you’ve gained even more cool points — watch out, pretty soon you’ll be at celebrity status in my book!
