With this new, slow wedding season among us, I gave myself a challenge. To make pumpkin macarons for Thanksgiving. It wasn’t long before I decided this idea was a bad one, and I was determined to make plain old Parisian macarons instead. Which was still a debacle. The first batch was decent – decent enough for me to eat about half of the shells. You know… To make “SURE” they were right. It wouldn’t have mattered much if I hadn’t burned the second batch. :) The third batch though? It left me hopeful that one day I will NAIL the infamous macaron-making process. Maybe I’ll try again for Christmas?!
This past weekend, Dylan and I saw Lincoln – as in, Spielberg’s new film about the greatest president of all time. As the daughter of a Lincoln enthusiast, it was everything and more that I was expecting it to be. It should basically be a requirement of all human beings to see this movie as soon as possible. The only thing more amazing than Daniel Day Lewis playing Abe, is the use of natural light in almost every scene. (Leave it to a Newhouse visual journalism grad to obsess over things like that… But OH! It’s so beautiful.)
One hundred and fifty. 150 Tuesdays have come and gone since we created this little series. I’m not gonna lie… Sometimes I feel it’s time to retire it. Like there couldn’t possibly be more for me to say. But oh the GUILT! I can’t tell you the number of notifications I receive via social media when it’s 3PM on a Tuesday and I haven’t blogged yet. :) In the same sense, I’m super thankful for this diary of sorts.. At any time I can look back and see what I was thinking 98 Tuesdays ago. All of this is to ask – why do you read Tidbit Tuesday? What do you like to see here? Is it time we retire Tidbit Tuesday and make a little Wondrous Wednesday magic instead? (I kid, I kid…)
Song of the Week: Slow it Down by The Lumineers. I’ve been realizing more and more lately how much I need to slow down. To breathe. To appreciate little things. Little bits of progress. Listen to this song! It literally slows my heart rate. Like I’m a hyperactive dog responding to some sort of one-beat-per-second musical therapy. ;)
And here’s a sneak peek of last night’s post – for those who may not have seen the beauty that was Candice and Chris’s wedding day! This is absolutely one of my favorite shots ever. Be sure to check out the rest!!
Happy Tuesday!!
Stephanie Pillsbury - I read it every tuesday because you make me laugh and I love reading about your adventures!!!! And I’m nosy. :)
