Tidbit Tuesday #146

Writing anything ridiculous and/or insignificant on this Tidbit Tuesday just feels strange with Hurricane Sandy having devastated so much of NY and the upper east coast. The majority of our family and friends are upstate enough to have barely been affected. There was of course some power loss, and intense wind. But after getting off the phone with my mom, she informed me that more twigs have been strewn all over the lawn from everyday thunderstorms than this thing. Still, my heart aches for NYC, and those who’ve lost so much. NY, I <3 you!

It happens after every vacation of sorts. I think I’ll be able to just jump back into my to-do list. But it’s just NOT that easy. I start watching movies. And eating bread. And before you know it, I’ve only accomplished four of the eight things slotted for the day. Take last Wednesday for example. I’d meant to work from my desk all. day. long. But then Sully’s eye started bleeding all over the carpet. I took him to the vet. I brought him home. I went grocery shopping. I made apple crisp. And then I was an hour late to Bible study. But PEOPLE. This is momentary… This week is for catch-up. Starting with blogging about it. And eating more bread. :)

Attention all fellow photographers who work from home! What advice do you have for a girl who WANTS to get up at the same time every morning, work out, shower, wear real clothes, do her makeup, style her hair, and pretend she has a normal job, but instead works 12-hour-days (on average) in yoga pants and her husband’s hoodie? Perhaps you’re not the right people to ask. :) But? Maybe you’ve mastered being a normal person?

Song of the Week: Some Nights by Fun. Why, just last night as we were heading to bed, I burst into this song and Dylan joined right in. We may not know all of the words, but as long as we can string a bunch of vowels together, we can sound pretty intelligible through most of it. Listen to it. Love it. Wooork it!!

By the end of this week, I’m planning to share the gorgeous wedding day of two beautiful clients-turned-friends. But before we get to that, here’s a look into our Instragram-life. If you don’t already follow, you should! :)

Happy Tuesday!!

Bethany - Working from home is tough! I started doing random outfit posts on my blog so that I was semi held accountable to making myself presentable. Maybe you could commit to a daily instagram that shows you either worked out, wore a cute outfit or did your makeup! Also, I started to feel bad for my husband when he only got to see me look nice before shoots :) I sort of consider it as a way to serve him, by looking nice every once in a while!

Megan Gielow - GIRL! You are not alone. It’s a miracle if I put on normal clothes + shower before 5:00. And yes, I find myself working 7 days a week. Very difficult until late November to take any time off…including weekends ;)

Stephanie Rita - To make sure I wear real clothes I make a coffee date with myself most mornings. I live in a fashionable little town, so going to Starbucks in my PJs would not be acceptable. Yeah, it might get expensive, but at least it gets me to shower!

jessica - haha…so, I tweezed my eyebrows on Monday last week and then again on a random weekday this week…and i had to high five myself because i thought…this is BIG people…it’s not a weekend, it’s not the evening..this is an early morning i.am.actually.getting.ready.forsomething.other.than.change.diapers.and.play.with.my.baby.stud type of activity…which i reserve for Saturdays and Sundays when i go out…and i thought about you and my other stay at home friends…and wondered…do they all wear yoga pants and shower at 3pm and only wear make-up when they go out to a place where people [they know] will see them? Do they all let their toe nail polish needs go a little longer than normal..and the answer is yes…well, at least according to you and your commenters…which gives me hope…maybe i need to start a blog like your reader Bethany and do a daily something…to keep myself in check…anyhoohoo, i am glad you eat bread and wear yoga pants too;) Makes me feel not alone…now to leave you and try to check something off of my list too;)i have a painting to finish and a living room to redecorate;) love you friend;)
