Tidbit Tuesday #99

Good morning, Internet! It’s a good day. And do you know why? Because I was woken up this morning the same way I’m woken up every morning. And well? Today just felt especially sweet… Dylan gets up at 7:15AM every day, gets ready for work, eats a ginormous bowl of oatmeal, and most importantly, lets me continue sleeping. But when 8AM comes around, I’m either jolted awake by Dylan’s full body-weight jumping on top of me, or I’m first stirred awake by the sound of little paws on our hardwood floors, as I overhear Dylan say, “It’s time to go wake up Mama! Let’s go wake up Mama!!” :) Oh, how I love my boys…

For the life of me, I will never be capable of spelling “occasion” correctly. (Well, except just now.. But that was only thanks to those fabulously helpful/frustrating red squiggly lines that exist solely to let me know what a terrible speller I am…) I also cannot write checks without complete silence and total concentration. After all, Mrs. Gerald taught us how to write checks in the FOURTH grade. How on earth are we supposed to remember where our hyphens go when spelling out numbers anyway? Lastly, I often pronounce bouquet as “berkay,” and social security as “shoshalshecritury.” It’s a problem!

This past week, while hoisting Sully’s upper body in my arms and trying to force his stubborn 65-pound-self into his crate, I jammed my left pinky toe on my desk. I’m sure my neighbors thought I was dying, based on my screaming like a maniac, but I went on with my day thinking my limp would be an extremely temporary one. It was just a toe-jam, duh! It wasn’t until I’d gotten home from a shoot and going out with friends that night that I took off my shoe and saw that my toe was in fact broken. And then I got all dramatic-like and slept with my entire leg elevated above my head. ;) FYI, it’s almost all better now.

Song of the Week: Arithmetic by Brooke Fraser. Sometimes I can’t help but feel embarrassed by my affinity for the “repeat-1” button. Or the fact that I can never seem to stay ultra-hip or current with my music choices.. But, Arithmetic by Brooke Fraser? The lyrics are just plain smart. And true. And beautiful. And Brooke is, well… Brooke. Her voice is perfection. I’ve especially felt drawn to the message of this song while in the midst of one of the busiest seasons of my life. And it’s been such a good reminder. If you think you can relate – and even if you can’t – I’d still encourage you to give it a listen, HERE.

November is a busy, busy month for us! And we have a TON to show you this week… Tomorrow, Rebekah and Matt’s engagement! Thursday, Laura’s bridals! And Friday, Laura and Nick’s fabulously detailed wedding at the gorgeous Ashelynn Manor! But for now, we hope you enjoy these fun sneak peeks. :)

Happy Tuesday!!
