Tidbit Tuesday #95

I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a morning person, per say. Then again, I’m not a really a night person either. But my favorite part of the day just might be when Dylan wakes me up every morning. As I groggily open my eyes, my ears are filled with theme songs written just for me and the cute little sounds of Sully’s paws scrambling across the floor. All as Dylan says, “Are you ready to wake up your mama?! Let’s go wake up your mama!!” :) Best way to wake up. Ever.

So there’s this new show called The Sing Off, and I think I love it. It’s like real life Glee. I mean, COME ON!! Sure the judges are a tad bit silly, but we should all be conditioned to that by now. So who wants to start an a cappella group with me?? (I’m only barely kidding…)

I am petrified of the dentist… And I always have been. It’s not that I’m afraid of the dentist him or herself. And I’m not even all that scared of scrapey tools or drills. But what I AM scared of, I’ve finally realized… Is failing. I liken hearing news of a new cavity to being yelled at by Mrs. Keeny for saying the word “castle” too loudly in the lunch room when we second graders were asked to be quiet. (Yes, that happened. And yes, it’s clearly scarred me for life.) The good news is that my dentist appointment yesterday morning was a complete success. And I got a brand new pink toothbrush to prove it.

And now it’s time for that good old obligatory 1 For Me // 1 For You reminder tidbit! :) Enter for a chance to win Grace Bonney’s Design*Sponge at Home as well as Urban Outfitters’ Home Is Where You Are rug, simply by commenting on the end of THIS post. Winner to be chosen next Sunday morning!!

Song of the Week: Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken by The Enfield Hymn Sessions’ album Resolved Music, Vol. 1. Y’all should know by now I love me a good modernized hymn every once in a while. So when I heard this one for the first time at church on Sunday, I became obsessed. I’m telling you that these lyrics and progression are just plain powerful. And beautiful. ESPECIALLY if you’re finding yourself in need of some God-given encouragement today, give her a listen!

So I’ve been saving all the stories of my travels in Colorado last week for this Thursday’s post. It is MEGA full of real life documentary, however ridiculous it may appear. So without further ado, here’s a quick sneak of me enjoying a wodfamchocsod from Whit’s End. AKA, a chocolate soda. :)

Happy Tuesday!!

jae - saw your tweet about sully’s weight just now, while i waited for my (superduperslowasheck) work computer to load your blog…it made me laugh. also i share the same sentiments about the dentist…well, plus the fact that i don’t like getting cavities filled…it is a cruel but necessary punishment i like to avoid. at all costs.
