You know those memories that are vague/outlandish enough, that you’re 51% convinced that those memories were actually just dreams? I feel I have way too many of those, since I’ve had extremely vivid/complicated dreams nearly every night of my life. (Just last night, my apparently wheelchair-stricken father had morphed into Dylan just before catching dinner and the Super Bowl with some friends in Portland…) But, back to memories. I have this one memory of my 10-year-old self walking all the way from downtown Sharon to my old house on Slate Hill Rd. That’s FIVE miles of walking. Alone. As a 10-year-old. For NO reason. I’ve recently concluded that there is no way I was ever that awesome, or ever had parents who’d be okay with that. I guess it was a dream?
The other day while spending a full 10 seconds deciding whether to use a big fork or a small fork to eat my lunch, I realized that I’m probably not normal. Here’s the scoop… Say you’re about to eat ice cream. And you LOOOVE ice cream. Wouldn’t you go for the smallest spoon possible, since going for the larger spoon would mean eating your ice cream faster, AKA, making it non-existent much sooner? Eating your favorite meals with the smallest utensils possible makes you eat slower so your favorite meals can last longer. And that? Is straight out of Alyse’s Book of Facts. BAM.
This past weekend Dylan and I drove all over kingdom come looking for a couple of wooden pallets to make into a coffee table. A coffee table like this… Neither one of us is particularly handy, but for some reason, we’re now all “wooden pallet coffee table or BUST!!” After driving to Home Depot, then Lowes, then another Home Depot, then another Lowes, and various dumpsters in between, we still came up with nada. But this weekend (which I have OFF!) we are resolving to make this happen. And we’ll be sure to blog some before and after pictures! :)
Speaking of being crafty, I’ve decided I’ve put off beautifying our bedroom for faaar too long. After living in this apartment for over a year, I’ve decided our room needs a legit overhaul. And so, I spent all day yesterday rearranging the furniture that works, and throwing away the furniture that didn’t. It’s crazy what a simple rearranging can do. And how it can throw out your back. ;) We now have SO much more room, and even a little seating area at the foot of our bed. Today’s project is to get started on a frame collage. Do any blog readers out there have a favorite piece of art/word art?
Song of the Week: Dream by Priscilla Ahn. A little old school at this point, but always a goody. This song makes me want to curl up in our fancy new-to-us room with a cup of tea and a cool breeze coming through lace-curtained windows. And although I might have to wait until December for Houston to give us that cool breeze, this song definitely makes it worth the wait… Buy the MP3 HERE, and watch the music video HERE.
This week’s scheduled posts are packed with the beauty that is Becca and Chris. First up? Becca’s insanely gooorgeous bridals. And then a sneak peek at B&C’s wedding day images. It was an incredible day. And I’m soo stoked to share!! So check on back. ;)
Happy Tuesday!!
