I’ve been so crazy inspired lately. So much so that it’s kept me up more nights than not this past week. And as much as I want to just turn off my brain sometimes so I can sleep, nothing beats the feeling. A lot of it has to do with little things… Like aspirations to make a replica of this cake. To rearrange our bedroom. Or to go out and splurge on a whole new collection of big, floppy hats like this one. Then there are the big things.. Like planning the complete staging and styling of our brand new home. The one we don’t yet have, but can’t stop dreaming about. Or the super exciting new blogging venture Dylan and I will be able to tell y’all about soon. (Tangent: I still feel like an impostor when I say “y’all,” so I’m taking baby steps by using it only when I write. For now, anyway..)
Speaking of blog ventures… Two of my absolute new FAVE blogs to follow are Aubrey & Lindsay’s Little House Blog and Young House Love. I really have no idea what’s taken me so long to jump on either bandwagon, but I am in looove with both of these families and their gusto to completely renovate each and every aspect of their homes, and even better, BLOG about it! I know more than a couple blogs would be a lot to handle, but I can’t help but toy with the idea of a Morrissey Home & Household blog someday. SO fun. Now here’s the question… Which personal and inspiring blogs do you follow and why? Whether home-related or not.. I’m on a kick. And I’d LOVE to know about some more!!
The other day while driving to lunch with friends, Dylan and I drove past a bunch of kids holding signs that read “CAR WASH!!” and “Cooperstown or BUST!” And just like that I melted into a pile of goo. A pile of goo that couldn’t wipe the smile off its face. My upstate NY readers will understand, as Cooperstown is a mere 30 minutes from the house where I grew up.. I was never a baseball fan. But Cooperstown still holds so many memories for me. Like eating peanut butter and fluff sandwiches down by the lake with my mom. Well, before a duck flew by and snagged my entire portion. And for those of you Facebooker’s who asked.. No, we did not get our car washed. And the small pangs of guilt haven’t subsided since.. :)
A big, big thank you to all who sent us your anniversary-lovin’ yesterday! To have this past year of marriage under our belts feels soo great, and I really could never express how blessed I am to be Dylan’s wife. Some highlights: Re-watching some of the footage our sweet photographer Mabyn pieced together from our wedding day; FINALLY narrowing down which of our images to have waaay enlarged and displayed either in print/canvas; opening our mailbox and seeing tons of REAL mail from family and friends (both anniversary cards and cards for Dylan’s upcoming birthday); and some of the best couscous I’ve ever had courtesy of The Grove… And I like to consider myself a couscous PRO.
Song of the Week: Timshel by Mumford and Sons. Dylan got me the M&S’s Sigh No More album this past Easter, and I have been soo excited to discover the rest of the songs. The ones that never get their time in the limelight or spot on the radio, but are JUST as amazing as Little Lion Man or The Cave. Timshel is one such song. I literally can’t stop hitting replay. Buy the mp3 HERE and watch this incredible live video HERE.
And because posts without pictures are just not as fun, here is a picture of tiny baby kid.. Who was quite visibly feeling a little left out of this Tidbit Tuesday. :)
Happy Tuesday!!
