It’s so quiet in here. There’s no squawking of rubber chickens. No barking at the slightest of movements out in the hallway. And none of the snoring that has so endeared us to our baby dog for the past four months. I have chosen not to sensor this tidbit because, well, it’s my blog. :) But, Sully has his manhood-surgery today. Or should I say, his soon-to-be-lack-of-manhood-surgery today. I brought him in at 7AM, and they took him on back without letting me say one of those long and drawn-out goodbyes all who know me are used to. It was terrible… But I’ll get to pick him up later today. Praying I can handle seeing him all droopy and extra sad.. :( (P.S. It’s okay if you think I’m ridiculous. I already know..)
This morning I had a huuuge realization! Not only have I now been in full time for a year already, but I’ve just recently survived my first full time cuh-razy BUSY wedding season. AKA, 11 weddings in 12 weeks. It has been an absolute whirlwind that I am so grateful for. But for the next two months, we get to scale back by about 50% – shooting every other weekend and spending some much needed time sleeping and eating and traveling. YAY!!
I’m not sure what part of my brain tries to convince all the other parts that wearing heels for more than ten minutes is even feasible for me, but boy does it try anyway. Particularly whenever Dylan and I go out. I GOTS to look cute, people. Even if I’m holding on to Dylan for dear life. And even if my right heel completely breaks off while walking up the stairs… Yes. :) This really happened. I then went out and bought wedges. Not too surprisingly muuuch easier to wear.
Last week I went on a chick flick binge. I’d tell you what they were, but I ended up not liking any of them. ;) EXCEPT for Once, which is about 10% chick flick, 40% drama, and 50% musical. My sister has been in love with this film for ages, and though I knew all of the music and owned all of the songs from it, I’d never seen it until last week. It. was. incredible. And it left me smiling for the rest of my day. Speaking of Once…
Song of the Week: I Have Loved You Wrong by The Swell Season (Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova – the duo from Once). This song, from their album Strict Joy, absolutely blows my mind. Apart from it being what I consider the musical version of Song of Solomon, and the shape of my heart towards God so often, its musical progression is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard. Thank You, Jesus, for music like this.
I’ll leave you now with a sneak at what’s coming at you this week. The first is from Katie and David’s Woodlands engagement. I had soo much fun with these two. And the second is a small taste of Lauren and Daniel’s gooorgeous Junior League wedding. So excited to post! So stay tuned! :)
Happy Tuesday!!
Stephanie Briant - I can not wait to see Lauren and Daniels wedding! Looks like a good one! Since becoming engaged and planning my wedding I have become a wedding announcement junkie in the newspaper and thanks to your beautiful work a wedding photo junkie online!!!
