I swear it must be true. Every time I pull in to the UPS store parking lot, the employees either run and hide beneath the counters, or mutter dirty words under their breath. And I can’t really blame them. I visit up to three times a week with a “I need to send this regular mail, please,” or a “Ummm, it’s a passport drive thingy.” Then there’s my favorite: “I know it’s really awkwardly shaped, but can you please pack this bendy, paper-mâché christmas tree?” Yes, 1 for Me // 1 For You has ruined any chance of friendship with my trusty UPS guys and gals. So, in an effort to portray just how sorry I am for being such a complete bother, Steve-the-guy-who’s-ALWAYS-on-shift-when-I-show-up, THIS Tidbit Tuesday‘s for you. :)
We have a brand new parking spot neighbor, and this is only exciting because the car’s license plates are from Connecticut. New England and middle colonies unite! I’m this close to inviting Mr. CT and his family over for a NY slice and some clam chowder.
I can’t quite describe it, but very suddenly the smell and feel of spring has crept up on Houston. Just when I was beginning to think seasons didn’t exist at all here in TX, the air smells a little fresher, everything feels a little newer, and I even feel a tad more inspired to get my gym on, and finish all those half-read books I started five years ago. I really am so thankful for seasons, and for the reminder it is that He makes ALL things new.
The evolution of Sully’s nickname is, and has been, as follows: Sullivan; Sully; Sully Dog; Baby Dog; Baby Dough; Tiny Dough; Tiny Kid; Baby Kid; Kindy; Kindy Kid. :) Just give it another couple months, and I’m sure we’ll be calling him Gus. Err, something.
Speaking of Sully, he’s grown two new teeth this week. BIG ones. Believe me, I know because they HURT. Then again, one of his front teeth is now gone, and a bloody gum has taken its place. I think it’s time he lay off the corner of our wall, the underside of my desk chair, my desk itself, the shelf to the left of the couch, the legs of our dining room table, the legs of our dining room chairs, his gate, his crate, and my heels of steel.
I haven’t plugged my Formspring in a while, but it’s been blowing up this past week with all sorts of interesting and funny questions I’ve had to think twice about before answering. Get in on that action here, and ask away! And mom, I know which questions are from you, so don’t even try. ;) Also, if you have a question you think others might benefit from for a future FAQ post, but don’t want to include your name, here’s your shot to ask anonymously!
Song of the Week: Driven By A Beating Heart by A Silent Film. It’s one of those songs slightly reminiscent of Coldplay, with a bridge that is juuust ambiguous enough to win just about anyone over. :) Definitely give it a listen to. Or 57.
So this week will be chock-full (What is chock, anyway?) of new images. Here are some sneaks of tomorrow, Friday, and Sunday respectively. ;)
