When you prepare to photograph a wedding for two clients you’ve never met before, a lot of things go running through your mind. Will they like me? Will they GET me? Will we work well together? What if she’s 6’5″ and he’s 4′? That could make things a bit difficult… While I’m a HUGE proponent of meeting my brides and grooms before booking, Jackie booked us immediately upon our arrival to Houston. For whatever reason, we never met face to face. But I like to think I’m a good judge of email character. And at the very least, I knew that via email we totally clicked.
Fast forward to this past Saturday. With squeals and a big hug, Jackie and I exchanged excitement for this day we’d only typed about. And Danny, the groom who knew he wanted to work with us even before Jackie told him she did as well, welcomed us like good friends with big cameras. Their grand entrance was even announced to the Friday Night Lights theme song, for goodness sake. In other words, we totally clicked. :)
J & D, Thank you both so much for the opportunity to capture your love with our big cameras. We hope you enjoy this sneak peek of your wedding day images!
First of all, the details! Oh my word, these details were so yummy. And La Colombe d’Or gave us such an incredible space to shoot them in!
Floral was done by the ever-talented Flower ‘N’ Frills. Seriously… Look at those bridesmaid bouquets.Loved this moment between Jackie and her maid of honor.Jackie, you’re stunning.Jackie and Danny did a first look so we’d have the opportunity to shoot their portraits in some really buttery pre-sunset light.LOVE these two images. The way she smiles. And the way he adores her. Photo cred to my amazing husband and second shooter, Dylan French. ;)Just love it when clients take a pose and make it their own. Naturals, I tell you.Dylan’s next two shots while hanging with the guys right before the ceremony. This little ring bearer is part one of an identical twin duo of cuteness. The conservatory at La Colombe d’Or was so dreamy. So much light. Such beautiful architecture. This was hands-down, one of my favorite moments from the ceremony. :)Dylan’s again!More details, y’all. JM Productions killed the linens and the DJ’ing!Cakes by World Bakery!Take this next image as an indication of how great the toasts were. :)And off they went. Married and covered in bubble film. ;) Dylan’s shot!
