Three weeks ago I received an email from one “Sandy Williams.” We wrote back and forth about scheduling a downtown engagement session on short notice. A week later, with our date, time, and location set, I walked up to meet the couple for the first time. But when I enthusiastically stuck out my hand in front of the bride-to-be with a hearty “Hi Sandy!” I was informed that “Sandy” was actually Christine. And Christine was Sandy’s fiancé. Because Sandy? Sandy was a man… And my face? Red. As. Anything. “It happens all the time,” Sandy humored me with a smile. And just like that, our evening was full of laughter and moments worth capturing.
Sandy and Christine will be getting married early next year in Sandy’s homeland of northern California. But lucky for me, their occupations brought them to Houston, and ultimately, in front of my lens. And I am so thankful. C & S – Thank you for the absolute honor it was to capture the sweet, sweet love you share for one another. And Christine, thank you for lending me your flip-flops after mine broke in half mid-shoot. ;)
Let’s just start the ball rolling with Christine’s gorgeously long and flowing locks, shall we? I want, I want!!
I just adore downtown Houston. So much character, you can’t go wrong. :)How flipping adorable are you two? Answer: Very adorable.I don’t normally choose to shoot in such uneven light as that in the right picture, but something about it seemed so studio/rembrandt-like. Ya feel me?
LOVED this moment I grabbed of Sandy admiring his girl. :)To the Sandy below: Wooowhooo. (That was a whistle.)With a quick outfit change, Christine and Sandy were back to their snuggly selves. Just love them!I think it was about this time during the shoot when these two realized “I guess she just makes those weird noises all the time..” Because with this light? I was all “Ahhh gaaahhh!!”Christine, would you LOOK at yourself?Sandy reminds me so much of a movie star. Not sure who exactly… But gosh, he’s just so dapper! And my favorite! I just love how the restaurant employee in the background is staring us down. :)
Happy Thursday everyone! P.S. November’s 1 For Me // 1 For You launches this SUNDAY, Nov. 7th. And believe you me, you don’t want to miss out. ;)
