I begin with the most important tidbit of the day: Sunday night’s dream. I was windsurfing with my cousin Shane in the middle of the ocean.. We each had a pack of about 30 dolphins swimming joyfully below us in a sea of sparkly rainbow colors. I swear to you I think I must know what it really feels like to windsurf. That’s how real this dream was… This is definitely going on my top 5 dreams list. Yup, right next to my cat turning into an onion, and that one high-speed chase with Barney Rubble in the underworld below my back deck.
Sometimes I think I write a little too much on here. ;)
Things are starting to move so fast. When I made my recent Twitter update, “OMG, I just realized I’m getting married,” I wasn’t kidding. I’m grasping it more and more, but am in no way there yet. That’s not to say I’m not ready. I’m SO ready. It’s just. NUTS. I’m not sure when it will fully sink in. But I do enjoy realizing it a little more each day. :)
Song of the week: Re: Stacks by Bon Iver. One thing I admire about Dylan is his taste in music, and his insistence that I buy Bon Iver‘s album, knowing I’d never be the same. Last night this song must have played 68 times on repeat while I slept. And yes, that is a legitimate calculation.
Over the weekend I began purging my closet and every other part of my apartment of stuff we will not be bringing to Houston with us. I seriously LOVE getting rid of stuff. It feels so freeing! The only thing is, for every item I get rid of, I feel the need to ask Dylan if I should. TWICE. And THEN, if Dylan says it’s okay, well then, it MUST be okay. Needless to say, he got pretty sick of that. :)
Oh and another thing. Notice I said “get rid of,” and not “throw out.” I am, for whatever reason, incapable of actually throwing all this stuff in the trash. If I know that some Salvation Army would be happy to take my 18 extra pairs of shoes, then I can’t possibly dump them, now can I? But of course, this means I’ll never get around to actually bringing them to the Salvation Army, and so my entire apartment will be cluttered with a million garbage bags from now until May 16.
We are currently in the process of looking for a place to live in Houston, as well as a church. If you are familiar with Houston at all, would you mind telling us your fave neighborhood(s) and/or church(es)?
I just love ideas. And inspiration. And actually making inspiring ideas happen! A complete overhaul and redesign of our brand is in the works and I’m stoked. I like my blog. I like sketchy flowers and birdies and things, but I think I could be utilizing design in a way that more closely resembles who I am as an artist. So excited to start working in a new direction!
Photographer of the week: Sarah Barlow. This girl knows what’s up. (That means she’s awesome!) Sarah’s a triple threat if I ever did see one. Her work is refreshingly unusual and graphic. Her branding is solid and implements fresh and bold design. And she’s just plain fun! I encourage you to check her out and make her blog one of your regulars. :)
I want to read more. I have this habit of collecting books and never reading them. I really have a library of books I’m sure are amazing and life changing. Just hoping to get around to them at some point. Any books I should add to the list? (Which may or may not mean I will end up actually reading them..) :)
Check back on Thursday for more of this incredible beauty!!
Happy Tuesday!!
